What camera is best for my needs?

I have always been very unlucky with cameras, so i have decided to invest in a good camera.the max a i can spend is £160.

i am going to be basically using the camera for:

+family events (weddings, birthdays)

+everyday use (taking pics of the kids, family and so on)

i have been looking up and heres what i have been looking at and i am not sure which one is best for what i am looking for? i want really good quality pictures :)

from reading reviews of the cameras on amazon, i was put off each one for very simple reasons, so now i really am stuck as to what to decide.
the:
1st cameras negative review is "Little manual control -what there is will be lost to most who will never bother to access the frustrating links on the disc!
Crackerjack and non-intuitive instructions on disc.
Flimsy and poorly designed battery compartment cover
Viewfinder to provide more versatility (for some but probably not all)
No hdmi output."

2nd camera "unreliable and goes through batteries at an alarming rate and the Picture quality is dreadful"

3rd camera "feels very cheap and plasticky, more like a children's toy."

and finally the
4th camera "The camera feels really plastic and cheap. The image isn't good quality, it is really blurry. It takes several seconds for the picture to actually take and load before you can move the camera making it rubbish for quick shots. The video quality is also poor and the constant error message when you turn it on"

in quoting these negative reviews, or parts of the reviews, there are equally as good of reviews for each camera.so please tell me, what one would be best for me?

thank you in advance for all your answers :)
