Is a 14 megapixel Nikon camera good?

I love photography and I enjoy doing photo shoots! Is a 14.0 megapixel Nikon s4100 a good camera? Is it good for photo shoots? Advice?

What camera is best for me?

I currently have a Nikon Coolpix, but I'm studying abroad in Europe this spring and will be traveling a lot, so I'd like to upgrade. I want a camera that will take really beautiful pictures, with good zoom and lots of features/settings.It would be such a plus if I could also take nice pictures at night (like the Eiffel Tower lit up!). I'd really like to spend under $300 so I won't be too upset if it gets lost or stolen. I was thinking about getting the Canon SX500. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Which camera? Nikon Coolpix 12.1MP L110, or Fujifilm FinePix 12.0MP S1800?

I want it to be un-blurry when taking fast shots, want it to be clear, colorful, SLR-looking shots, up close well, and to take very good shots. I never bought a Fujifilm. Please tell me which one.
