Dont know what camera is best.?

Want to get a digital camera and tbh am a little confused by all the brands. I need some help from someone who knows cameras.So i just want a point and shoot to take pictures of my pets, concerts, partys etc.nothing too fancy :) i had a lumix panasonic and i thought it was a great little camera. Anyway i was thinking of the Nikon Coolpix s3300 or the fugi JV300 or are there better cameras for better value? please help

Why is my Nikon battery not charging?

I have a Nikon Coolpix S4100 and I went to charge the battery, but it never charged. The light never went on either.It can be charged through the computer and through and outlet, but nothing budged. Why is my battery not charging? I have everything I could possibly think of from moving the charging place to trying the battery in different ways incase it was wrong. I bought this camera in the US in the month of July 2011. Please help me, I am very afraid.
