My Nikon coolpix S3100 is taking blurry pictures?

So I have a nikon coolpix S3100 & it's taking really blurry pictures. I already tried changing the ISO sensitivity & it doesn't work. I use auto mode and they come out blurry. I try the different scenes & it ALSO comes out blurry. Any way that I take a picture it comes out blurry unless I zoom in. It's not water damage because I haven't used it around water so I honestly don't know what's wrong with it. Someone help please?
Added (1). I have to zoom in to almost half the size of the zoom bar & I don't hear any sounds. I have tried taking photos in both dark & light places but it's blurry indeed & it's not due to shakiness. I have tooken pictures in the dark before & it looks perfect. I don't know why it's doing it now.
Added (2). I do hear sounds when I half press the shutter button though.

Ideas on photography?

I'm getting a Nikon coolpix l830 for Christmas and I was wondering, what kind of pictures can I take? I'm asking because I am a teenager and can't drive, therefore I can't go to places that would make good photography such as the woods unless I'm willing to walk miles. I'm really interested in photography but I just need some ideas on what pictures to take at home that don't require much traveling because I don't live close to any pretty geography features that would be good for photography. Any ideas?

Why buy a DSLR over a small compact camera?

I have Nikon CoolPix S9500 and it is a great camera that takes great, top quality(Full HD) videos and photos and it has a 22x optical Zoom and is has a 18 megapixels CMOS image sensor that means the photos and video will be in high resolution.

All the time i record my videos at home with my Nikon CoolPix S9500 on my tripod and it is great and very happy with it. I don't see no reason to get a DSLR over a great small compact camera.

So Why buy a big *** DSLR where you can get a great small compact camera that is more portable to carry around with you than all DSLR's(especially with very big lenses) out there and has good lens inside and is as good taking top quality photos/videos…

Give me reasons why a big DSLR is better than a great small compact camera like Nikon Coolpix S9500?

Why Won't my Nikon Coolpix S2700 take pictures?

I just imported photos on my camera to my laptop and now my camera isn't working. When I turn it on all the things in shooting mode are round the screen (like how many minutes I have of filming left) but the screen is black. My Nikon L830 won't record full video?

I recently purchased a Nikon L830 to take pictures for my blog and record Youtube videos. However, it will only take super short videos (around 19 sec or less.) Obviously, I don't want a 19 second video. Is there any way around this (like recording straight to my laptop, etc.) or should I return the camera and save up some more for a more expensive one?

Does elevation affect cameras?

I was in the adirondacks and when i reached the peak of the mountain my camera, a nikon coolpix L120, would not completely open the shutter so you were seeing some of it in your view angle. Is this just a coincidences as i was told a Best Buy or does an elevation increase affect cameras?

Which one would you recommend? I want to get a camera for making youtube vlog videos (mostly me sitting in front of the camera talking), but also a camera that we can use as a family for photos. These both look like good choices to me and are in my price range. What would your recommendation be? Do you have any experience with any of these cameras?

PS. A lot of people asked me why am I not getting a camcorder instead. I feel like this is sort of a compromise between a camera for photos and a camcorder. Also getting a camcorder in the same quality would cost much more from what I've heard.

PS2. No I probably won't have the money to buy myself an SLR… Do you think the quality will be THAT much worse?

Nikon COOLPIX P600 vs Canon EOS 600D?

Which one would you recommend? I want to get a camera that can record good quality youtube videos (mostly vlogs - me talking to a camera). The coolpix is pretty much a great compromise between a quality camera both for photos and videos being also quite light, smaller and cheaper. Canon is, on the other hand, an actual SLR but it is much heavier when it comes to carrying it around, it's more pricey and from what I've heard it hasn't got a build in autofocus. What do you guys think?

How to transfer photos from my Nikon camera to my Mac using ViewNX 2?

I used to use Nikon Transfer to transfer photos from my Nikon (Coolpix P5100) to my computer (Mac) and it was easy.

Now I have upgraded to OS 10.5.8. Why do they have to make it so complicated? I now have to use ViewNX 2 but I can't figure out how to do it. On the View NX 2 screen there is a camera icon labeled Transfer but it is grayed out. I can't find any instructions on how to use View NX2.

How do I transfer photos?

Is there any information available on how to use View NX2?
Added (1). Thanks for the suggestion, Won for All. I've only been using a digital camera for a couple of years, don't do that much photography, would rather not buy another piece of equipment.

I don't even know what this Lexar Pro is, how it works, had to do some searching to find that UDMA is ultra direct memory access and SD reader is secure digital reader. I think this is a bit beyond me.

So if you could tell me how to use ViewNX 2 that would be great.
Added (2). Later -- Problem solved! I realized, I had to delete Nikon Transfer. Then, I could use View NX 2 and successfully downloaded the photos to my computer. It wasn't that hard to do, pretty intuitive. But the downloading was slow.

So for me, it wouldn't be worth buying the Lexar Pro. I can see that for people who do a lot of photograph it might be worth it, though.

How to 'restart' a dead Nikon Coolpix p500?

My NIkon Coolpix p500 has always had trouble charging, or holding charge, but it would still work; however, it is now simply dead! It wont turn on, and wont even charge when connected to either my Laptop or the wall adapter.

Why doesnt my computer recognize my camera anymore?

So ive uploaded pictures from my camera to my laptop a bunch of times, but now when i connect it, it only recognizes a few of the pictures, then when i try to view other ones, the computer freezes and I have to disconnect it. And none of the other computers in the house even show any photos at all… What can i do to fix this?

Nikon Coolpix L820 flash not working? - 1

I recently got the Nikon Coolpix L820 and everything was working well at first but then the flash stopped working. There's no red light to show that it's charging the flash and when i press the flash button it says "raise the flash", so i raise the flash but then when i press the flash button to turn it on, the options to turn it on don't even pop up on the screen. I was so excited to have this camera but now I'm really mad that this flash isn't working. Help?

Cheap professional camera?

Now I know you'll say "professional cameras aren't cheap" and I know that, I just mean one that is less than 400 dollars. I'm a high school student and I plan to take photography class next year and get into photography. I just want one that takes high quality pictures. I do not want the Nikon CoolPix if anyone were to suggest that, I don't like the quality of it and I don't really want a point & shoot camera. And if there are none that are good quality under 400 dollars, tell me the cheapest one that IS good quality and I'll just have to wait longer to get it I suppose. I just got a nikon coolpix camera, and the pictures are kind of blurry, and they have little dots on them, so they look grainy. How do you fix this?

Problem With Coolpix L22?

Batteries exhausted whilst the lens was out, I charged the batteries and put back in camera but I am not getting any power at all… I have tried different batteries, makes no difference…

The camera is less than a year old, and I would say averagely used.

Any suggestions appreciated?

Added (1). yesterday I had loads of pictures but today I have a file named USBCðéüä. Which does nothing at all but was originally 1.3gb ins now its 0kb? All I have done is plug the sd card into a card reader on the pc and then back into the camera. Took some picture now there all that's on there and all the old ones have gone. I ran a file recovery on the drive and it found 101 jpg images but they where all really old ones and none of there where recent. I googled USBCðéüä. But it comes back with nothing?

What setting/scene should I use for my Coolpix Nikon s560 at a concert?

I just bought a Coolpix Nikon s560 I'm going to a concert tomorrow and I want the pictures to come out nice, I've had trouble with a past camera at concerts because I wasn't sure what scene to use and they didn't come out very well.
The scene menu has to chose from:

Landscape
Sports
Night Portrait

anyone know which one I should use?
there is also Scene Auto Selector. Should I stick with that?
or choose one from the list?

My nikon coolpix p100 focuses but wont take pictures?

Its not the memory card being full. Its not a setting i dont think because i reset all of the settings back to normal. I am pressing the right button. Its a little under a month old. Another way to properly upload Nikon D3200 pictures to computer?

I use to always copy images all the time with my old camera( Nikon coolpix s9500 ) to computer. Connect it with the USB cord, click camera logo to get to camera gallery, click image and it would copy itself to computer, easy as that but with my D3200 after connecting it to USB and clicking to gallery, most of my images wont show itself, only 2 pictures showed up fine but when i clicked them a tab popped up with "Failed to copy" can someone please give me other uploading to computer options if possible

Why won't my new Nikon Coolpix S800c connect to WIFI?

I just got this new Coolpix S800c. The first evening that I had it, I went through the automatic set up and connected to my wifi. The day after, it was no longer connected (I guess it doesn't automatically connect like a smart phone). I managed to connect again after about an hour of attempts. Since then, it will never connect when I need it to. It's like it decides on its own whether it wants to connect or not. In the Wireless & Networks section there is only one thing I can click on to connect and I cannot find the wifi connection info anywhere, so I cannot disconnect the connection and re-enter the wifi info again. Please help! I tried the Nikon site and it tells me nothing; and their offices aren't open. Thanks!

Need to upgrade d3100?!

I have had my nikon d3100 for a few years now and ive collect a fair few lens, (18-55,55-200,10-20,50,35,12-24 ) it has served me well but it has started to break a bit on me now from use in the rain and dirt etc, christmas is coming up and im thinking about upgrading the body, I'm travelling in Europe for 6 weeks over christmas in 2015 and I'd love a new body to take with me and give me new options, as much as i'd love the d7100 its a bit pricey and its hard to find 2nd hand ones in a small city(WA)

so I thought the d700 looks quite good and its weather sealed which is a HUGE bonus because of all the snow etc, I was then comparing the d7000 to other cameras and the d5300 caught my eye, my mum has the coolpix p600 which has the same wi-fi and flip lcd as the 5300 and they look quite useful as I like the share my photos on social media and have the GPS, plus the flip out LCD would have handy when getting down low for different angles of structures, plus its newer, what would you suggest, I have read that the d7000 is a solid camera and looks really good but I cant choose which one, I will probably shoot mostly landscapes but I do bring out the odd 50mm to get some street photos, open to suggestions! If I got the d7000 quite cheap I might have enough left over for a lens or should I just try and go for the 7100? I want this next camera to last and wont feel like I need an upgrade anytime soon and because its just a hobby im not going to go full frame any time soon

We send all of our photos to walmart for printing if that has any effect on quality or not. I read that it's not all about megapixels (this one has 16) and that dpi and ppi play a role as well.
For example:
Dimensions 4608x3456
Width 4608 pixels
Height 3456 pixels
horizontal resolution 300 dpi
Vertica resolution 300 dpi

Would these numbers be acceptable for a good quality 8x10 photo? Thank you for your help!

Help Choosing Camera for Uploading Art?

I've been reading up on what cameras are best for taking pictures of art works, as it seems much preferable to scanning. I found a camera I like in a price range I can live with that has a lot of the features listed, but the one issue is it doesn't take pictures in RAW format. Is RAW format really very important for uploading art? Other than this it seems like the perfect model. I have a Nikon Coolpix S210.
When you turn it on the lens comes out and I think it turned on in my bag. It will no longer focus and when I turn it on it just buzzes and says "Lens error".
Please help!

Nikon Coolpix P500 Shallow Depth of Field?

Hi there:) so I have a Nikon Coolpix P500 and I want to take a picture with a shallow depth of field. Basically I want to take a picture of a shoe and have the background blurry. I have tried experimenting with a couple different f-stop numbers, but I haven't been able to really see a difference. I was just hoping someone could explain to me, step by step, how to get a shallow depth of field in my picture. Thank you so much! My NIkon Coolpix P520 won't turn on?

I was taking pictures with my NIKON Coolpix P520 and I got the message that my battery was exhausted. I tried my spare battery, but the camera wouldn't come on. I assumed it was dead too. I charged both batteries and the camera won't turn on with either of them. When I try to charge a battery in the camera, the light on the on button comes on, it beeps, and the charging light flashes slowly. But even after charging, the camera still won't turn on. I have this old camera which I bought from someone 3 days back, Nikon Coolpix s6. While trying to jump a 4ft. Wall yesterday it fell off from my pocket on a hard concrete floor.

Good point-and-shoot camera for outdoor photography?

I'm looking to upgrade to a point-and-shoot that's known for taking great landscape photos but I don't have any knowledge of the new cameras. I'm a bit oldschool when it comes to technology. Just searching around a little bit this is what I've been looking at:

Canon PowerShot SX510 HS
Nikon COOLPIX L830
Samsung WB1100F

These are around the $200 range as I don't have a ton of cash. Would you recommend any of these for landscapes? Is there another camera around that price range you'd recommend?

My Coolpix S220 camera only takes pictures with lines through every shot?

The camera has never been dropped or damaged. The screen is clear but when the picture is take it has a yellow hue with black/gray lines through the shot. Just started happening for no good reason. Battery has been charged. Same results. Camera is only 1 month old.

I can't upload my photos from my camera to iPhoto!

I have a Nikon COOLPIX 6100 camera, and I received it as a Christmas present. I used it to upload photos once before, but whenever I try to upload photos now, the "flash" button starts blinking green repeatedly, and the camera doesn't show up on iPhoto.

Can anybody explain to me what the problem is and how to rectify it? Or, if not, an alternative way to upload my photos from my memory card? Any help would be much appreciated!

So, today I got the Nikon Coolpix L830, a camera carrying case, and a SanDisk 16GB memory card. As soon as I got home I put the batteries and memory card into the camera, but there was a problem. A box popped up and said "This card cannot be read" and wouldn't let me do anything. I looked it up on Google and it said the card that I have supports the camera. I did take the card out and tried inserting it again and blowing into the slot. Nothing seems to be working, any help?

How to stop wind blowing in the audio of my Nikon Coolpix P510?

Every year I go to an airshow and last year was the first year I used my Nikon Coolpix P510 to film the aircraft. The video quality is great but for the majority of the day I was stood on a cliff top with a pretty constant breeze. This meant that you could pretty much hear every gust and in some cases it drowned out the sound of the aircraft. I wondered if there was anyway I could prevent the wind from ruining my videos this year as I am aware I cannot use an external Mic. Any help much appreciated! :)

I recently purchased the Nikon Coolpix L120 and cannot figure out how to set the time and date. I have searched the internet and came up with the answer that when you turn your camera on for the first time you set it then. I bought my camera from Wal-mart and they did not have any new ones just the display camera and that is the one I bought so now I dont know how to set the time and date. What rechargeable batteries to buy for Coolpix L830 (Nikon)?

I have just got this camera Coolpix L830 (Nikon) and at the moment I am using the batteries that come with it (LR6/L40 (AA-size) alkaline batteries (x4).
On the manual it says to get 'Four EN-MH2 rechargeable Ni-MH (nickel metal hydride) batteries'.
Now, I'm not good with batteries, haha, so I need someone's help to find these batteries. And if possible to send me a link of where I could purchase these batteries and the charger, for a reasonable price of course.

I have a 14 megapixel Nikon COOLPIX L120 which I really like. Unfortunately, It is a point and shoot. I need a DSLR for a photography so I picked up a old 8 megapixel DLSR. I was wondering what the average was for a DSLR because I know the more the MP, the more it cost.

I got the camera this past christmas and it has worked fine up till a couple weeks ago. The screen is frozen and i cant anything to work and the only way to shut it off is to take out the battery because even the power button doesnt work. Any ideas on how to fix it? If not im gunna go see if i can get my money back because this is just ridiculous.

How to take better pictures in the dark with a nikon coolpix s4000?

I have a nikon coolpix s4000 and last night I went to a graduation and couldn't get any good pictures in the dark room. Does anyone have any suggestions? I tried turning off the flash and playing with some of the setting but I didn't have a tripod so I was looking for ways to make the picture come out clear and bright but I had no luck. Any help will be much appreciated!

Prime focus astrophotography?

Could my Nikon coolpix p5100 camera be used for prime focus astrophotography? I'm sure it cannot if yes how? It is a nice camera 12.1 megapixels. Is Afocal astrophotography my only alternative? I'll be purchasing soon a Orion ED80T CF Triplet and it looks like another camera what do you suggest?

My memory card for my camera cant be read?

Im using a SanDisk sdhc 8gb class 2 memory card in my Nikon Coolpix p80.ive been using it all day and its been fine. After running out of room, i decided to go through and delete about 3/4(over 1000) of my pics.still takes pictures just fine.later in the evening, while trying to take more pics, the cam went into auto hibernate mode or whatever you wanna call it. I tried turning it back on, but it was stuck, so i just forced it off.afterwords, my camera now says the card cannot be read and when i try to plug it into my laptop, nothing happens. WHen i try to open it through Computer and the drive, it just loads and says it isnt responding

I need a new camera for action shots?

I currently have a Nikon coolpix S4000 but it doesn't take very good action shots. I am putting this here because I will be using the camera to take pictures of Horses and their riders at work. This includes Jumping, flying leads, barrels, and speed shots. I was just wondering what cameras you have or know of that take really good action shot. I will also be using the camera to take pictures at my high school football games since I am on the yearbook staff. Hence the really good action shots and in the night setting. Thanks for any camera opinion's! Oh and if possible keep the prices under $500. I really like the Canon Rebel(not specific which one it is) that my teacher has, but it's like $1, 495.
So any nice action shot cameras under $500 that work good in low light.

My Nikon CoolPix recently died. I really liked that it was small enough to put in my pocket and take on the go. I was very happy with the picture quality that I got when I took pictures outside in natural light, but the ones that I took inside were very grainy or had some sort of blur from the light in the picture. I am wanting another little camera that I can take on the go, but wanted to know from other people if there were any good point and shoot cameras that took great pictures inside and out.

Camera is Shutting off When Trying to Take a Picture? (Nikon Coolpix L120)?

As stated I have a Nikon Coolpix L120. Recently, the camera has been shutting off when I go to take a picture. I click the shutter button, and the screen goes black, the lens retract and the camera shuts off. The battery gauge is full and the memory card has room on it.

I've tried taking the batteries out and putting them back in. Sometimes it works temporarily.

What's going on and can I do anything to fix this?

Why doesn't my camera save my pictures to the SD memory card?

I just got the nikon coolpix s203 for my birthday and I put my SD memory card in the nikon from my old camera, and when I started taking pictures, the pictures were saved to the camera, not the SD card, but I wan't my pictures that I take with my nikon to save to the SD card but they won't. And I searched through the "settings" option on my camera and the only option that even had to do with the memory card said "format card" but that means deleting them, and I'm not doing that. I just got this thing so I'm not sure exactly how it works. It turns on and functions fine when I plug it into the wall. But when I unplug it, and put in fresh batteries (i've tried normal batteries and rechargeable ones) it will not turn on. I don't want to have to be plugged into a wall everytime I use this camera… So how to fix the problem?

Torn between Sony A5000 and Sony HX400V?

I am a casual photography enthusiast and currently own a Nikon Coolpix P500. I desperately want to upgrade but don't know which one to get! Main criteria is good quality photo. I do like the fact the HX400 has all in one and in one video I saw that it has a "peaking" feature when manually focusing. On the other hand A5000 has a much better image quality (I heard) but the lense that comes with it obviously doesn't give as much zoom.

I mostly use the camera when in vacation somewhere and hardly use my Nikon's 32x zoom. But it just feels more safe to have a zoom!

Can anyone please give me some suggestions? Thanks! :)

How to save a cropped image using Nikon View NX2?

I have a Nikon Coolpix L27 digital camera. I uploaded my images to the PC using the View NX2 program. I've cropped the image. I can't figure out how to apply the changes. I went to the help menu. It simply says to click apply. I can't find apply anywhere in the editing options. I've went under every tab. I still can't find where it allows me to save the image after being cropped. I've search on Google and YouTube seeking help. I haven't found anything about saving and/or applying changes after cropping an image. Can someone please help me? I'm very frustrated. Thanks:-)

Tips for photographing jewelry outdoors?

I am looking for tips to photograph my jewelry line and have had disastrous results with indoors photography for my jewelry. I have a Nikon Coolpix and am not too pleased with it at any rate but its all I can afford now. Would outdoor pictures be better and if so what colors should I shoot against (I am partial to black). I use a lot of brass, crystal and pearls. Please share any success you have had or tips that would help. I need to start advertising and get my product images online.

I bought a 4gb compact flash for my nikon coolpix 775.it says format disk but when i formatted the disk it says disk full. Anybody know how did that happen or any solutions for that.thanks

When I first started using this camera, when blown up on a computer or printed out the pictures did not look pixelated at all. However, now it does not seem the pictures are being taken at full resolution and are pixelated when blown up on a computer or printed out. Nikon Coolpix AW100 Lens Replacement?

So I was rock climbing and didn't have a screen protector on the glass lens cover. My camera hit perfectly against a jagged rock outcropping and scratched the screen. Now whenever I take pictures it's blurred in the right side of every picture because of the gash. Tried cleaning it with alcohol, etc and I can't buff out the scratch.

I was looking for cheap replacements on BING or Google and found NOTHING. How is it possible to replace THE LCD SCREEN… But not this tiny piece of glass or even just the whole lens itself?

I don't want to send it in to some overpriced technician when I could probably do it myself.

Does anybody know WHERE I can purchase a new lens or simply the glass lens cover?

I purchased the camera for 240 bucks, and I'm not even sure (if and when I find the replacement part) how much it'll be.

So I went to a concert and I used my Nikon Coolpix camera with my Lexar SD card but I can't find the cord so I cant transfer the photos from the Nikon camera to my computer but I have the cord for my Canon PowerShot camera so I put my SD card into that one but the videos won't show on the camera it says I only have photos but if I stick the card into the camera that I took the videos with it shows up. I am looking for a decent camcorder/camera to film beauty/makeup videos on YouTube. This requires occasional close ups but mostly portrait filming.

My Nikon Coolpix won't download pictures to my computer?

I just got a Nikon Coolpix L11 for Christmas from my boyfriend. He took the time to research it and found this to be the best choice. So far it has worked great, except I can't get the pictures on my computer at all! I have Xp, and have used about 3 other cameras to load pictures onto my computer and it works fine. This camera had very specific directions on how to put them on, steps involved along with a CD download. I followed everything exact, and it will not show up! I also tried just going under my computer and getthing them there, but it says that the camera is in use. I have tried all other options. Has anyone had this problem? Any suggestions on how to fix this?

I have a new Nikon Coolpix L830 it came with ViewNX2 for software?

I try to install it, it will install one of the components (Panorama) but not ViewNX2 for viewing and editing. I've tried 10 times. Some under 32 bit and some under 64 bit. The license agreement window opens but not all the way so I cannot see the bottom where I click on NEXT. Help
