im going to buy a dslr soon maybe in the next year buti was wondering if this would be good enought to but right now im using the canon a590is so is it worth it to wait or should i buy it for now

How to silence a Nikon L810 camera?

So I just recently bought this camera just yesterday and the sound that it makes is a bit annoying to me. I just want to know if there is an option to silence the noise. I tried to look for it in the options menu, but no luck there, unfortunately. Can anyone help if possible?

NIkon AW100 Option 1080p or 1080p * (Star)?

Hi, i just bought a Nikon AW100. And when i choose the quality option for picture and videos there are two similar options, for the video it is: HD 1080p * ( With a star next to the 1080p ) or simply 1080p with no stars. What does that star means? And for image it is 4608x3456 * or simply 4608x3456.

Taking action pictures and choosing a camera?

I love to take photos of my grandson playing football. I have a Fujifilm Finepix it's good for still shots but when it involves action shots they come out blurry. I'm looking for a better camera not a lot of money.when I read reviews about cameras it tells me nothing but "it takes great pictures" nothing about sports type picture taking or video's. I need details to make my decision. I'm not all that savvy just need help with this decision. Not sure how much you can rely on some of these reviews. I was looking at Nikon Coolpix L810. Nikon Coolpix S3100 lens error?

I've had this camera for just over a year and I have never dropped it because I've always made sure to take great care of it, but after it spending a month at my friends house because I accidentally left it there the lens won't fully open. If I turn it on it'll open half way then get all jolty and stay there, the picture is really blurry. Sometimes it'll open a little more than that, and if I zoom in, it'll distort a little then I'll get a clear picture and it'll work, but I don't know why it only happens sometimes.
Also, if I look into the lens, it looks like a piece has broken off inside, but I have no idea how it would have happened, the person's house that it was at said they never used it or anything.
I am fully aware that I probably can't fix it myself and it'll likely cost more to repair than it is worth but I'm looking for more information on it if possible.
Added (1). I've just seen that when turning it on (Sorry I'm not all technical with cameras) There's a little circle hole, and something I'm assuming that is supposed to align with that hole but it's not.It's only half aligned with the hole, I'm assuming that's the problem…
