What's the most affordable DSLR camera?

What are the lowest costing digital SLR cameras out there? I'm looking for an SLR camera for Christmas.My mom won't spend over $300 though (I might be able to bargain with her though if it's a really good deal) The lowest price I'm seeing for SLRs is in the $500 range. What are the cheapest DSLRs out there? I'm not looking for professional quality, I just think SLRs are much better quality.So an "okay" SLR is probably better than my little digital Nikon Coolpix which takes pictures with terrible lighting.

So the absolute 100% cap for me is $350. I'll probably try and find a deal for it somewhere too like on craigslist or amazon or ebay.

If you don't think an SLR under $350 is possible, what other digital cameras are very nice for under $250?

Taking pictures with a bright background?

I have a Nikon Cool Pix L120 or 130, I forgot, it has a 21x zoom. But anyway, I attempted to photograph my daughters last night at a dance recital and the pictures were all inadequate! The room is dark but the stage is brightly lit of course. I tried Night Scene, Indoor Party Scene (which turned out better than them all) but none of them were clean and crisp… Can anyone help with what setting to use?

Sandisk memory card not working with nikon coolpix s8299?

Every time i take a picture or video and then try to to look at it later it then says file contains no image data, and then i upload them and it says windows cannot view this image.Is there any way i can get my pictures and videos back? What should i do?

Need Help buying a Camera?

I'm stuck between 3200D & 5100D I read many reviews & now im really confused both have mixed results, any how im inclined to go for 5100D but if there is an expert out there please help me out.

My interests are simple I don't do photo shoots but I want a good camera whenever I go on a trip I want to take some good pictures & my friends tell me I have a good eye for photography, having said that I'm sometimes not impressed with my Nikon L120 (current) performances in certain cases which led me to this decision.

I would also like your recommendation on a lens, a decent one that can cover short & far distance for some time so I can save up money to buy a new lens in good time.

Please help & it's much appreciated.

The Constellation Room?

I'm going to a concert at the Constellation Room in The Observatory in Santa Ana, CA. I was wondering what it's like. I've been told its crowded and hot and kind of unpleasant. I'm seeing a modest musical group..er. People. Adam Green and Binki Shapiro.

My most important concern is this:
1) Are cameras allowed? Should I even take one? The only camera I have is a Nikon Coolpix L120.It's not exactly a small camera…

2) Yes, I am a young woman so I use handbags.Is taking one a good idea?
