Nikon Coolpix P500 Camera Technical Support?

I have a Nikon Coolpix P500 & i have two questions,
1. What is the attachment i need for it so that i can put it on a tripod?
2.It sometimes spazzes and tells me that it can not use the SD card when it's brand new and i was wondering why it does that?

On the details of the camera it said that i could upload images from my camera to my pc. Phone cant figer it out, is it possible please help

Canon t3i worth investment? :?

So my birthday is in less than a month (13) and I been wanting to get into photography classes. I currently use a coolpix camera but you can't really change the shutter speed, exposure & such.So I want to upgrade my camera to an dslr and I been wanting the canon t3i. I had exprinence with it before and now how to use it ( aunt owns one ).My parents said they are willing to pay half (350) for my birthday present and I'll pay the the rest. I really like the flip out screen (:.So is good camera for a beginner & photography classes? Is it worth the $$$? Thanks (:
