Best camera for a teenage girl?

I'm looking for a camera that isn't too bulky, sharp focus, and can take videos. I want a GOOD camera, because I love photography, but I don't know that much about cameras. I'd like an entry level camera. Also, I'd like to be able to take good videos on it.

I know that's pretty vague, but do you have any ideas? I've been thinking about the Nikon Coolpix L120, but I'm really not sure.

How to take Moon picture with my SLR camera?

I have a Nikon P500 Coolpix camera. I have made several attempts to take some Moon photos with it. Here is my best: http://instagr.am/p/SJ33pmNlPi/

But what should I set my camera to for optimal lighting? I'm looking for setting, ISO, etc. I am also in need of a better method of focusing the camera during these photos (yes I do have a tripod).
