How to work my Nikon Coolpix s9300?

The s9300 is known for it's really good low-light pictures, but I can't seem to get it without using the flash. When I turn the flash off, the shutter speed turns to like 1/2 or even higher, making any movement extremely blurry. Sometimes I just use my phone instead, which seems totally backwards.
I have the ISO set to automatic, and I've tried using auto mode, "sports scene", and a couple others.
Help plz :)

Point n shoot Cam with manual controls?

Hello,
There are so many cameras out there that now i am totally confused as to buy which one and this is where i need your expertise.
Instead of going for a DSLR directly, i would like to buy a decent point and shoot for starters. Money being the obvious reason: P
Maybe in future i will go for a DSLR, but i need to pick up few things before i do that.
So kindly suggest me a good and cheap point and shoot which has the freedom of manual controls to pick up on the basics and which will not compromise with the quality of the images.
I had Canon SX 150 IS and Nikon L810 on mind.
Your help will be highly appreciated!!!
I am looking at cams at <13000 Rs.

Nikon Coolpix S8200 but more durable?

I love the Nikon Coolpix S8200, with its 16.1 MP, 1cm Macro, Panorama mode, and even the price is okay (while a little on the costly side). Not only that, but it'll fit in my pocket! My only concern is that it's not as tough as maybe some of the other ones. I'm replacing one that I have recently dropped, a Nikon Coolpix S3300. I had dropped it right on its lens, and it broke for good. I love that camera, but we got it on sale, and now it isn't, besides, I didn't like that it wasn't as tough as some of my older ones.

SO, my question is whether the Nikon Coolpix S8200 is durable and tough, or, if not, are there any that you know of that ARE tough? It doesn't have to be a Nikon. Thanks in advance!
