Can I use Lexar Multi-use SDHC Class 4 for my camera?

It's a Sony DSC TX100V, and in the manual it says I am allowed to use
Memory Stick PRO Duo, Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo,
Memory Stick Duo, SD memory card, SDHC memory card, and SDXC memory card (Class 4 or faster)
I used this SD card on my other camera and it barely held like 50 pictures, which annoyed the heck out of me.My other camera was a nikon coolpix though… not sure if that matters.
Added (1). It's 8gb

Nikon Coolpix S550 screen black?

The camera turns on. I can tell because it makes a noise when it turns on. The on button turns green for a couple of seconds and then turns off.So i cannot see anything on the screen. I can take a picture but i can't view the picture afterwards or delete pictures right from the camera. If i take the sd card and plug it into the computer but that is the only way to see the pictures,
Can anyone help me out with this problem? I really do not want to get a brand new camera (I just purchased this camera about a month ago)

is it worth buying it? or wut camera u suggest that takes really nice photos and is not too expensive.
