So recently I have been searching the internet in hopes to find any information on the Nikon Coolpix L105 however there is hardly any at all- still unsure as to why. A few months my camera had been smacked down onto my dining room table (by accident) and the LCD screen had cracked therefore since there is no viewfinder on this particular camera I couldn't take any photos. So I took the camera apart myself and spent weeks trying to find an LCD that appeared the exact same and finally found one. I ordered it and it came in today so I took my camera apart and inserted it the same way as the old one had been inserted. Now originally (before taking out its original LCD once it had cracked) the lens would still extend out of the barrel but after I had taken it apart and put it back together now the lens will not move at all when I turn the camera on. I turn the camera on and the green light comes on for a second but there is nothing happening or lighting up on (what is now the NEW) LCD screen and the lens will not extend or move either. I am trying to save money by repairing myself because I am in the process of buying a Nikon D3100 since I'm a professional photographer but I would really like to fix this point and shoot Nikon. It is originally from Target but the receipt is expired (of course) and they have no materials to fix it. Should I take it in to Geek Squad? Could it be that although this new LCD screen is brand new and is the same dimensions and size as the original that it still may not be compatible with this particular camera? Because when I was searching for a replacement LCD no screen came up with any reference to the Coolpix L105 but this is the only one I found that was compatible with the Coolpix L100, L18 and P90 that had the same exact qualities as its original so I put it in the camera. Could it be that something is jamming the lens? Because it will not move at all when I press the on button. When I do press the on button and hold down the OK button it does make a beeping sound but nothing appears on the screen either. No screen or lens activity is occurring but the camera turns on and then immediately turns itself off. I don't know which part of the camera is having issues. A jamming of the lens or the fact that even though this LCD appeared to look and fit exactly the same as its original it may still not be compatible. Help? Suggestions?
