My NEW Nikon Coolpix L310 won't turn on?

It was fine the night before, I left it by my computer before I went to bed. I didn't shut it off, I don't think.but I'm sure there was and still is no initial damage done to the camera. I've tried changing the batteries, but it still won't turn on. I haven't dropped it. I even tried plugging it into the computer but that still doesn't turn it on. This isn't even my camera, it's my mom's, I told her I was going to borrow it and now it won't turn on and if I tell her, she'll get so mad. Any help?

Coolpix L610 Rechargeable Battery Problem?

I just bought a Nikon Coolpix L610.It works fine with alkaline batteries but they have a very short life so I tried my freshly charged Energizer rechargeables 2100 mAh and the camera immediately says "batteries exhausted", and with a different set of rechargeables the camera won't even turn on. Again, the batteries had just been freshly charged for 15 hours. These rechargeables work fine in other equipment but not this camera. Any ideas what is going on???
Added (1). I should add that the rechargeables say NH15-AA 1.2v NiMH 2100 mAh

Im photographing my first maternity shoot soon, any tips?

Okay so first off, I am not a professional, im only 17 years old, and im doing my cousins maternity pictures FOR FREE because like I said I am not a professional. I have a Nikon Coolpix 810. Just wondering if ya have any tips for taking good pictures?
We will be taking them at a vintage lake house with a lake in the back yard.

Any cameras very similar to specs of nikon coolpix p7700?

It looks to me like the Nikon Coolpix p7700 is the best camera I can buy for everyday use and concert usage as it has stereo sound and a backlight illuminated CMOS sensor (would be better if it was 10x zoom not 7.1) but the rest is nice.is there any other cameras that cost upto £350 that have the same sensor, (backlight) with 8-10x zoom and stereo sound (stereo sound is a MUST!)

How to cut out a voice from a camera recording?

Okay, so I went to a concert and recorded a bunch of stuff. The sound quality is great and everything but when I recorded the songs, I was singing and you can hear me, (yikes) and hardly the singers. How to fixed my Nikon Coolpix's lens? Lens error?

I was on a walk with a friend and I dropped my camera. The lens was half way out with the center part more pushed in. I managed to push all of it back in, but when i turn it on it still says "lens error" when I turn it on. Does anyone know how to unjam it?

Nikon CoolPix S3300 display screen is black?

Dropped the camera, now when its turned on the screen is black, when taking pics its black. Any thoughts as to what is wrong with it? I can still see all the pictures that I took before the camera was dropped.

Why is youtube not letting me upload video?

Ok so i went to a concert the other week and got some great videos on my Nikon coolpix digi camera. I plug the usb lead in to upload these videos to youtube. I can upload some but others it just skips quickly and comes up with this video has failed to process.It is a supported file type. When i go into properties the video that wont upload size is 0 gigabytes. How can i fix this.

I think this is causing the problem help can i change it in sum way.please take me threw it if yes.

Since my dad started using smartphones, he stopped using that camera because he find it easier to use and faster when it comes to sharing photos and also he is not into the different settings a camera has.As long as the photos is taken and it's not blurry than he is happy with the photo.

I don't even think my mom has 20 photos in her smartphone taken by herself. She not into taking photos and when my parents travel, my dad does all the photo taking.

My dad knows some stuff about cameras but just doesn't use it. When I was looking at a camera online, he immediately knew what I was looking at. He can even tell which camera is newer than the other.

I have asked a while back if I could buy a new camera.My dad doesn't think I would need it because he knows I going to ask for the DSLR. I'm also thinking of a changeable lens camera.In his mind he only thinks I want it because I see people using it. Also, he says there are many functions I can use to take photos that won't even use. If I want to be a photographer, I will have to try out the functions in the camera to know which one I prefer with what I'm going to take.

I'm not trying to find ways to persuade my parents into buying it. If they don't after hearing my reasons than i'll just have to live with what I have intil they change their mind or when I have the money to buy one. I want them to know I have a lot of love and passion for photography. If they buy it for me it can really help me out if they let me go to a photography school next year. I'll have some good quality photos to show the teachers at the school. Even if I don't go to a photography school and find a job to do with photography they will easily hire me with the photos I have taken.

Nikon coolpix l11 wont take pictures?

I am in possession of a nikon coolpix l11 camera, however when I try to take a picture with it, the lens extends, then the camera retracts the lens and turns itself off. I also notice a little flashing red light on the side. Thanks for reading!

Why won't my camera lens close?

I have a Nikon s800c, and one day, when i went to turn it off, the lens would'nt close all the way.Is there anyway to fix this?
-i dont remember dropping it, it just wouldnt close one day.

How to get my parents to buy men a good quality camerA?

I have a strong interest in photography. I love talking pictures wherever I go and I'm thinking of turing it into a career. The only camera I have is the Nikon Coolpix S70.At the time when this camera came out I don't know much about cameras. I was 13 or 14 at that time. I chose this camera because my dad uses Nikon digital camera and this one has a touch screen. Now I regret buying it.

When I grew up I started getting more into photography. I see many people taking amazing photos and most of them use DSlR I want to be like them.

My dad doesn't think I need a perfessional camera to take photos. He knows I love taking photos but doesn't think I know how to use it properly. He also doesn't want me to damage it because its expensive. I did tell him I want to be a photographer one day and if I have a good quality camera I can have something to show the photographers.No matter what I say, my dad keeps thinking i'm finding ways to get him to buy me one. He just can't seem to understand how much I really want to be a photographer.

The camera I was thinking of getting is Sony Alpha NEX-6. I know it's not as good as a DSLR camera but its also a good camera, easy to travel with and can change lens.

A friend of mine accidentally dropped it, and it hit the lens housing.there is no scratch on the lens, but i cannot zoom in or out, and the camera has a hard time retracting the lens when you turn it off.someone suggested that it's probably the motor inside the lens that's damaged.if so, is it possible to fix it?

Well in university I'm going to take photography as a extra circular activity. Why is Youtube not uploading my videos?

So when I plug in my Nikon coolpix camera into pc (using usb) And try upload the videos on there to youtube, it wont work and only comes up as an image file! Why is this? Why no video files for my videos? Youtube wont let me upload videos?

Ok so i went to a concert the other night and want to upload my videos to youtube. I uploaded one from my ipod before but now im trying to upload some from my nikon camera l25 #2 and it wont work! i uploaded one before which worked fine but now not.It says The video has failed to process.It is an avi file so there should be no problems.It doesn't even load it comes up with processing 0% for a second then says The video has failed to process.i have tried to convert file into mp4 but that just comes up with this message; Your file conversion failed for the following reason:
Invalid data found when processing input.

whats wrong help i really need to upload these videos! X

Seeking photography advise?

I'm new to the world of self-taught photography. I would never call myself a pro at what I do. I'm looking for all the advise I can get on how to improve my work. I don't think I'm horrible but I know there is major room for improvement. Someone already told me I need to work on my Composition and lighting. Please don't worry about being to harsh, I can take criticism. I don't use the best camera but for the time being its all I have, and I think it does a pretty decent job for a newborn. CCD or CMOS digital camera to buy?

I shortlist Nikon L820(CMOS) and L810/320 (CCD), Please guide me which one should be great choice in terms of relaibility and maintainnance as CCD provides a better image quality and low noise.while CMOS performs in low light or there is not so much defference in them. These model uses AA alkaline batteries.

Best Camera for beauty videos?

I have recently restarted making youtube videos, and I am asking for a camera for my birthday. I know the Canon t3i is one of the best but it is WAY to expensive. I would like a good camera with a good zoom that focuses, that also has a flip viewfinder that is around the $200-$260 range. Here is where a second question comes in, I have found a camera that I kinda like, it is the Nikon Coolpix L820 but it does not have a flip viewfinder, is there a way to attach a viewfinder to it or am I just going to have to work without a flip viewfinder?

I bought a new battery for my camera and it's not working?

I have a Nikon Coolpix S3100 and it said after taking too many pictures that my my battery is "exhausted." So i bought a new battery on amazon.com and put it in my camera the way it's supposed to go in and the camera won't turn on. Suitable digital camera for 10 year old?

My 10 year old is a responsible girl. She has been using my camera (a Nikon coolpix one, one of the older ones) for about 2 years now, without dropping it/spilling any thing on it, and I can see she's really into Photography and that. I feel she's ready for a more… professional one. I don't really mind price-wise, as long as its not too high of a price, as it will be her only christmas present as she'll hopefully really like it (aside from a few little things she wants). What camera do you recommend?

How many pictures will my 8GB Scan Disk card hold?

I am going abroad for 20 days and plan on taking tons of pictures. I have a Nikon Coolpix s6100 camera: 16.0 megapixels. Unfortunately my camera does not display how many pictures i have left until i have fifty or less left (!!) so that is very annoying not knowing.

Also, for image mode should I put it on 3m? 5m? 8m? i want to take as many 'good' quality pics as possible and not be worried.

I want to buy a bigger camera, because I have a smaller camera (but it doesnt always work very well) and I was looking the other day at Canons and Nikons, but I noticed the Fujifilm brand. I started messing with the camera and I kind of liked how you can do panoramic pictures and the zoom and things. But is it a good brand? I dont want to make a mistake buying this camera if its not really that great. I like taking pictures of just about anything… Please help! Why does my 4gb memory card record less than my 2gb?

I have a Nikon Coolpix L120 and I put in my 4gb memory card thinking I could record a long video. But even though the card is completely empty I can only record 4 minutes of footage. When I then put my 2gb memory card in I can record 30 minutes. Why is this?

First time photo shoot.?

Recently a few of my friends have asked me to photograph them and do a few photo shoots. 2-3 are asking me to do their high school senior portraits. I have done some portraits/candid photographs of a couple of friends for a course online and most people love them, but I'm still a little shaky about what to do for senior portraits besides what I have done with the ones for the online course. Any tips for this (poses, locations, things I would need, charging them for the pictures, ect)? Also, another friend has asked me to do a photo shoot with her and her boyfriend before they both leave for the military in a couple of months. Any tips for this too? Much appreciated if you could help some.No negativity needed.xx
*I'm not a professional, so I don't have all the resources photography places and free-lance photographers have nor do I have 95% of the equipment.

Steel wool photography.?

I'm trying to do steel wool photography and have a nikon p510. Can I use this p510 to capture a good photo of the effect? I know that I need 0 grade steel wool, a wish, lighter/9 volt battery, and and camera capable of taking this kind of photo.Is this camera capable? How do I need to setup my camera(shutter speed, lighting, etc.)? Safety tips? I do not have a tripod, what else can I use to hold the camera steady?

A beginner that could use some help with film cameras?

Ok so the story is i been trying to get into photography for over a year now.It's just a hobby i been trying to pick up. I Started out with a Nikon COOLPIX camera.It's a great camera but I am getting a little bored with it. The camera is only good for close range and you can't switch lenses. I decided to go onto eBay and buy a film camera for about $40, because I am a poor nursing student and I don't have the money to buy a $600 digital camera with longer lenses. Right now i have canon at-1, Minolta srt 201, and my uncle got me a Minolta maxxxum 5000i. Ever since I got them I've been trying to research them and So far i haven't had any luck. I decided to just wing it; I got 400 speed film 35mm.It seems that everyone was using 35 MM film so that's what I picked up. I have no clue if that was a good choice. I believe I spent about $20 on 4 rolls of film and I used one, took some pictures and of course me being a beginner; my pictures were not good at all.So that was another eight dollars down the drain. I was wondering if anyone has these cameras and could tell me what kind of film/batteries I could use? Where can I get cheap film? What's the cheapest place I can get my film develop? Through my research I read the beginners just keep the negatives and don't get the negative develop so you can save money and you can still see how your picture turn out. Not sure if that means I still have to send the film out to get the negative or if i just open the film up after I'm done. Any information would be awesome! Like I said Im a good beginner so anything would help! Thanks guys!

Which of these point shoot cameras is best for me?

I'm currently looking for a camera and I've basically narrowed it down to these 4. I need a camera that can take good quality pictures and I'm planning to use it on my travels to take pictures of people and different skylines. Low-light quality is really important to me.So given this, which of these do you think is best for me?

Nikon D7000 or Fuji Finepix S5 pro?

I been looking at these two cameras recently as an upgrade from my D3100 which i currently have.both cameras take the Nikon DX f mount lenses but i don't know which is really better. I know at the time that the Fuji was comparable to the nikon d300 and d200 but what about the D7000? my main reason for looking at the fuji is the price, as i could pick up a good second hand one for a good price due to the fact that the camera is discontinued, but the d7000 is still fairly expensive.i know that you generally pay for what you get, but i would like to know as if the fuji would be a good alternative to the nikon, then i may go with that due to the lower cost now.i know that fuji are generally not the 'got to people' for DSLRs but im just wondering!

not interested in the D5100/5200 OR D3200 as not a real upgrade as cant use AF lenses, just AFS.

i do like Nikon gear and if i had the money to buy a new Nikon i would, but would the fuji be a good alternative, or would it be sniffed at for not being very good?

This was taken with a Nikon coolpix 330. (I think)

I am not a trained photographer or anything like that. I just wanted to learn how to enhance colours. I probably overdid the saturation, but I'll let you make the comments.

Great camera under $500?

I am getting a camera for my birthday (I need to choose one in a couple of days) but, the camera has to be under $500.

I want the camera to be able to take great quality pictures and to also be able to shoot HD videos (1080 preferably). I don't want another point and shoot camera, I already have one of my own right now which is great but, I want a camera to take more than just family photos and selfies (lol). I find photography quite interesting and I'm seeking a great starter camera for my love of photography.

What are some good quality cameras under this price range?
Would the canon eos rebel t3 be a good pick? Or, perhaps the nikon coolpix p520 optical zoom digital camera? I need suggestions! :) :)

Can I take my camera to American Airlines Center in Dallas for a concert?

Cause im going to a One Direction concert in three weeks and i'm gonna be really far and have only one camera which is the Nikon Coolpix L810. Also the website says the lens can't be 3 inches or more into AAC for concert and my lens is 1.5 inches it looks like this

Do they mean the lens that you can attach to them or on the camera?

How to change my videos from.mov to.wmv from my camera?

My camera is a Nikon Coolpix S5200(color is purple) and it seems like it can only take.mov (QuickTime Video Files) and it won't go into my Window Movie Maker which only accepts.wmv(Window Media Video Files). I could convert it online on a website (convertfiles.com) I use but it's taking forever because this video is 30 minutes long and I want to cut stuff out and edit it on my Movie Maker. If you know a way to change it easy on my camera so that when I transfer the videos it turns into.wmv right away OR if you know a website that is faster OR a software that is free and super easy to use and simple (if it's similar to the vooby converter that would be nice but I found out that vooby isn't really useful and I can't seem to download it again, maybe because the website has viruses?) then PLEASE TELL AND HELP ME!

Nikon D3100 or Canon T1i?

I need an upgrade for my EP-L2 and I'm looking to buy a low cost DSLR to get out of the m4/3 marketplace. The main issue is that I understand as soon as I decide which camera to buy, I will be forever committed to that company's lenses and bodies. This is why I lean more towards the Nikon, since they have a larger lens market and their bodies are far more affordable.

HOWEVER, I love the Canon bodies and the features they have. I also like the video quality compared to the Nikon, which is why I'm a bit at a standstill. They both have a similar resolution, the Nikon being 14.1 million pixels and the Canon only having one million more pixels than that.

I really cannot decide which camera to shoot for, no pun intended.

SD card won't work in camera?

I have a Nikon Coolpix L120 and am currently trying to use a new brand SD card in it. Its an 8gb Lexar SDHC card and for some reason it keeps asking to format and won't format and also this, "This card cannot be used". I have no idea why it would do this since it as taking pictures fine before. I usually used SanDisk or UltraDisk but the SD cards are the same, I've made sure of it, so how come it would be doing this and how can I fix it?
Added (1). @Jini Thankyou so so much, I just did that and its working now, thankyou heaps! You'll get best answer when I can select it haha!
Added (2). Ok so I formatted it in the computer and then formatted it in my camera and its just refusing to cooperate. I took a few photos and then turned it on again and it said the camera wasn't formatted and did what I said it was doing before so I'm getting really fu*king frustrated now honestly.

How much video can I get from a 8gb card, on my digital camera at 10mp?

I have a Nikon Coolpix S30 - That is suppose to shoot in HD.

Its at 10 mp. I was told that had nothing to do with the HD video part… But, I think it does because, the video looks really unprofessional… But, then again it's suppose to be HD and no I'm not happy with the video so much. Someone explain this? But, any ways…

How much video can I get from the camera which is;

10 mp

Suppose to have HD video

Water proof up to 10 feet.

Then I shoot my videos at 720p

On a 8 mb card

It shows how may minutes I have to shoot- 18 minutes and something seconds BUT, I've tapped 3 minute videos before and it never changed the time on it…

I've looked in the manual book / the online manual and I really can't find anything that tells how much video I can shoot / how much time I have.

Looking for a 1080p Vid-cam cheap but good?

I was going to get the COOLPIX AW100. Yeah its a point and shoot camera I know but its water proof and shoots 1080p video. I can get one on ebay for around 150 $. Any other cameras / camcorders that you would recommend.

Why do the pictures on my Nikon Coolpix change?

I recently got a Nikon Coolpix and something REALLY bugs me on it. Whenever I go to look at the photos I've taken it just jumps around like a slide show. Why does it do that? Can I turn off some setting/how?

Added (2). Ya the pop up flash. Some one also said use parchment paper but I don't really notice a difference .

Battery exhausted on Nikon Coolpix L18?

I get Battery Exhausted message even when I put brand new batteries in the camera. Sometimes the camera works but most times it doesn't power on. I use regular alkaline batteries. Troubleshooting section of the manual has nothing on the subject. Does anybody know how to fix that?

How to record from an external camera connected through a simple USB cord?

I have an old Nikon coolpix camer L18 and i wanted to use it instead of my webcam. How would i go about making it a capture device on my computer? The reason why i ask this is I want everything that goes on on that camera to be right on my laptop, and I want to be able to record from my laptop and edit on my laptop as well therefore no need to reach over and hit the record button, possibly screwing up the angle. On top of this i want to be able to see what it is recording. The screen faces away from me so I have no clue. Any tiny hint as to what to do will help.
