I'm going to Cannes soon with some friends and I am thinking about doing "vlogs" while I'm there. I want to make youtube-y vlogs and I know that a lot of youtubers use the Canon S100 for daily vlogs but I wonder if there are any cheaper alternatives? Something with HD, that stabilizing thing that some cameras do that prevents the footage from being blurry, haha I don't know what it's called, and also has good sound recording.

Importing pictures on my computer?
I've got a digital camera. A Nikon Coolpix.
When I upload pictures, it uploads every picture in the camera. Is there any way I can pick out the pictures I want uploaded?

Memory card won't stay in Nikon digital camera?
I have a Nikon Coolpix S210 digital camera, and it has decided to eject the memory cards I put in it. It's not just a certain one, it pops them all out.
I have only had this camera for 5 months, and it has only started to do this recently. The slot where I insert the memory card is spring-loaded, but whenever I push it in, it will pop back out and won't stay in, causing my camera to give me an 'out of memory' error message on the screen.
I am almost to the point where I have to manually hold the memory card in place with my finger while I take the picture, which is very tedious and unnecessary.
Has anyone else had this problem? I bought the camera new from Circuit City, should I take it back to them?
Thanks!

Second-hand Canon EOS 440D?
Hello there. To begin with, a few months ago I bought a new camera, namely a Nikon Coolpix L110 and I can say I'm quite disappointed. The photos often turn out noisy and unclear. I don't have a tripod, but sometimes, when I move as little as possible, I get awful images. Also, there are hardly any manual settings in this camera, but those were my financial possibilities.
However, I now thought of buying a second-hand Canon EOS 440D + accessories. Now, I would like to know exactly what the differences between the two are. For example, a site says that they have about the same shutter speed range. However, my Nikon won't let me control that and I would like a camera with manual settings so I can learn photography, not a P&S.
Also, I am interested in artistic photography, not just a few pics with my family.
So, the main question is: Should I actually sell my camera and get a second-hand EOS 440D?
Any other suggestions of cameras are welcome, as well.
Added (1). Is it absolutely necessary to own a tripod if you have a DSLR? Would the pictures turn out worse in this case than if having a SLR/P&S camera (also without tripod)?
