My camera won't focus?

I got the Nikon Coolpix L610 because it not only takes good pictures but the records at 1080p, now i'm having a problem because while I was recording a makeup tutorial video for youtube, the camera would constantly blur out and then blur back in and focus and then it would blur out for sometimes a minute. Any advice? Please help.

Camera image quality reduced after upload?

Hi, ive just bought a new digital camera.when i take a photo the photo size is 16 mp when i upload the photo to my laptop via the supplied cable the image drops to 3 mp on computer? my camera is nikon coolpix 16 mp.i dont understand why the uploaded image is losing 13 mp.thank you .
Added (1). Thanks jim, so will i still get a good quality picture when i print the 3 mp photo to A4 ?

Nikon l180 or Nikon D3000?

On Craigslist I've found a Nikon coolpics l810 for $100 and a Nikon d3000 for $200.which one is better? better photo quality? anything you can tell me would be great. I am just getting into photography and I'm looking for a good beginner camera.but I really don't want to have to replace batteries but the d3000 said he has rechargeable. I don't know what's a better deal

Why does my camera record only MOV?

Ok I know there's all kinds of camera and settings but I got this HD camera.whenever i record it. Then when i'm done recording it.i import it to my computer, play it but why only MOV. i want it to play AVI. I can't import it to movie maker.My record video file type is always MOV.Is there anyway i could change it to AVI type instead of MOV.
my camera is Nikon or COOLPIX. i can't really tell.

How to make Time-Lapse videos?

I'm new to making time-lapse videos and I would like to know more about how exactly to go about it. Currently I have a Nikon Coolpix p510. Will that work or do I need a DSLR? I also understand that I need to have a intervalometer. Generally, I'm interested in creating Star Field Time-Lapse videos.My main question and concern is about the software. When you take all the pictures at multiple second intervals, will they be put together into a video, or will I have to take all the pics and stitch them together? If that was a stupid questions and all you photography gurus are silently shaking your heads, please help! Again, I'm extremely new at this, I have tried to do some research but most of the videos were kind of out of my league… Please help!

Why does my Nikon Coolpix L310 keep crashing?

I've had this camera for a little over a year and i'm taking it on holiday with me in 3 days. However last week I was using it around the garden and house and when I half-pressed the shutter release button (to focus it) it shut down and turned off, and kept doing this - apart from when I was in the house.it had done this before but i'd managed to take some pictures in between times. I really don't want to be lugging this around on holiday if it's just going to keep crashing so please help or tell me what's going on? thank you :)

Dpi versus megapixels and image quality?

So why does my 6 year old coolpix with a paltry 7 mega pixels absolutely wipe the floor with my brand new canon powershot with 12 megapixels in terms of portrait and close up shorts?
With the coolpix I can zoom right into an image and the detail is amazing, but with the canon the image quickly becomes pixelated with no fine detail.

I noticed when looking at the properties of the shots, the coolpix recorded 300dpi versus the canon's 180.
So does this have any relevance or am I overlooking something? Perhaps its the quality of the lens or perhaps the size of the sensor.
I am just an amateur who likes to take sharp close ups and I'm very disappointed with the power shot and my coolpix died on a fairground ride :(
Added (1). I ALWAYS shoot on the highest quality image setting.

The canon doesn't shoot RAW.
Added (2). Edit @ BK: Just to clarify, I'm comparing images uploaded onto my laptop. Both cameras were set to highest quality image setting - I might be a novice but I don't need to read the manual to know how to do this.
Its OKAY to say you haven't got the knowledge to solve my issue.

Nikon Coolpix L18 not uploading pictures onto my mac laptop?

So I plugged it in and turned it on and still refuses to upload or even show that the camera is plugged in.It's a blue coolpix L18 camera. Not sure if I can only use it on Windows because when I tried on a desktop windows computer, it worked and uploaded them.Is there anyway to get these pictures onto my laptop? My Windows computer 's internet is down on it so I can't upload them to Fb and I would need a flash drive to transfer them. Thanks

How to use a microphone in Audacity?

I have an Audio Technica 3350 microphone and I also downloaded Audacity. I have a Nikon Coolpix L120 camera so it doesn't let you plug in a mic to it.So whenever I record my voice with my external mic on Audacity it is terrible.the recording stops, and sounds like a walkie talkie breaking up. ( staticy). Can anyone please help me get a nice clean sound, or if you have any downloads that you suggest. I have windows 8. I need upload some new vids to youtube and this is really holding me back!
