Which are the best Nikon Coolpix digital cameras?

I'm wanting to purchase a Nikon Coolpix camera but I'm not sure which one's are best… I'm wanting something that's good at picking up details on small intricate items but I also want something that's great for taking long distance pictures like scenic pictures of the night sky. I'm wanting something around 12MP - I've looked at the L100 and the S6100 but I'm just not in touch with cameras!

Comparison between Nikon L810 and Canon Powershot SX500?

Earlier this year, I decided to upgrade my Kodak Point-and-Shoot to a bridge camera. I wanted the SuperZoom, plus the ability to take action shots, shots in low light, and have more options as to the quality of the photos. I am a hobbiest, not a pro by any means. I primarily take action photos (sports), photos of my children, photos of my pets, and outdoor scenery.

I bought a Nikon Coolpix L810 (June 2012) and HATE IT.My shots are always blurry, whether I use a tripod or just hold the camera. Outdoors, the colors are rich and lush. Inside, the photos are grainy and too warm in tone. The zoom never wants to focus at full zoom; sometimes the shutter won't engage. I frequently miss shots because of those two reasons. The flash is either Auto or Off -- many times the flash doesn't even go off, even though I know I'm in a low light situation. I've tried different settings (all preset, no manual controls) and nothing seems to help.

I was looking at a Canon Powershot SX500 as a replacement. I hate to spend the money (my budget was around $200 when I bought the Nikon; this camera runs about $250) but I'm so unhappy with the Nikon (I have only owned Kodaks before this).

Can anyone help with what I should do here? Would the Canon be a better camera or would it be about the same and I'd be in the same boat that I am now? Thanks.

Nikon P510 or Nikon D3100?

I'm getting my first camera for my birthday. I love taking pictures. But I can't decide between these two. I've previously used our family canon 600d which is great. These two nikons are also around the same price where I live. I love the p510's zoom but the other is a dslr which obviously means better images? Help!
P.s I'd like to take pictures when we travel, which one would be better for that?

Best camera under 350 dollars?

Hi… I really want a new camera. Right now I have a little nikon coolpix s1 and its just not doin it for me anymore. What are some of the best cameras you have come upon less than 350 dollars that take clear, crisp pictures? And are good at taking action shots (I will be taking pictures of horses moving around, bucking etc… so it has to be pretty quick)

Nikon S3100 Coolplix Problems! Help!

When I try to charge it the green light just blinks for 30 seconds. And it doesn't turn on! Help please.

Can I use my camera while its charging?

There's an outlet that has a usb port which plugs into the camera.so basically my camera charges by plugging it into an outlet (and it could charge when plugged into a computer as well).
No the battery doesnt come out and go into a seperate outlet/charger thingy (it probably could tho, if i had one of those things).

I have a Nikon Coolpix P510

anyhoo.can i take pictures while its charging or should i wait the whole 4 1/2 hours until its done? My boyfriend has a weight lifting competition thing tmrw and I was trying to figure out how to take multiple pictures by pushing the shutter button once.then my camera died ---

And i still dont know how to take those ^ kind of pictures yet.

Tricks to using Nikon Coolpix S9300?

I've had this camera for 6 months now. I have never been really pleased with the way the pictures are taken. Mostly because I payed the SLR price for a camera that isn't, well, an SLR. I'm wondering if any long time owners have found tricks to using it, in a way that makes the pictures more professional. Most importantly, if there is a manual focus setting that is on it that I'm just not finding. Thanks!
