Trouble with Nikon Coolpix P60 Manual Mode?

When i try to take pictures without the flash on manual mode, the images always turn out black, with only the most intense of light showing in one spot.i really want to use manual mode because of the high shutter speed settings i can get from it, only i dont want that stupid flash, has anyone figured this out? no im not an idiot, ive read the manual, ive changed settings for the past three days ive had it trying to figure it out, and still nothing.

i DONT want some lame link to a nikon help site, or a p60 manual.ive LOOKED myself, thankyou.i want a personal opinion or advice.
Added (1). Screwdriver:

I am not cranking the shutter speed faster and faster, if i had taken a first image and it was bright enough, while the others got darker and darker i think id be able to figure out NOT to do that.this is every single image i take. The iso ive cranked upto 2000 in broad daylight, the images are viewable but the noise is ridiculous, ive tried on lower settings.i have the shutter speed set as high as itll go: 1/1200, and even with it at a lower setting, 1/30 for example, which is what the automated setting is in other preset picture taking options, its still just as dark.ive played with the aperture, with no luck.ill fiddle around with it more i suppose, maybe i need that one perfect combination of settings.also, id like to add that all other preset or automated image taking options do just fine in the light im trying to take pics in with manual mode.
