Canon PowerShot SX620 HS or Nikon COOLPIX B500?

I'm looking for an inexpensive camera to use for basic pictures and sometimes videos. I've weighed the pros and cons of both cameras and I know that one takes batteries, neither have great mics, and neither does that well in low light. Anyone have recommendations or personal experience?

Canon DSLR. How to deep zoom?

Hello, I own a canon eos 1300d with the stock EF-S 18-55 mm lens.

I recently saw a similar price tag camera, namely the Nikon COOLPIX P900, and on a youtube video, I see that it can zoom as much as 83x, giving stunning moon closeups.
I went into a online shop, and saw that in the specifications, they do mention 83x optical zoom.

So, does that mean the Nikon has that deep zoom built in? Or it comes with a zoom lens?
And how it can have 83x zoom if the zoom number is the result of dividing focal lenght numbers?
Please help me understand.

Nikon Coolpix B500 batteries exhausted too early?

So my fiancee and I decided to buy our first camera and we wanted to start with something simple so we bought Coolpix B500, it was fun for a few weeks when all of a sudden batteries that came with the camera (four Duracell LR6 alkaline batteries) got exhausted. Is it the cameras fault or batteries last that short? It says on the batteries that hey are usable until march 2026 so they have not expired yet.
