Pictures on my nikon coolpix are grainy?

Whenever i take pictures with my new nikon coolpix S550 [10 mp] camera, its pictures are either grainy, blurry [no, not due to hand motion] or part of the picture is lighter than the other.

i've read about ISO, and right now it's on auto.
i've tried putting it on manual 100 too, but idk, i guess i'm still not satisfied.

i feel like the picture quality isn't better than my old powershot =/
any ideas, comments, fixes, help!

Microphone for Coolpix p510?

I have a nikon Coolpix p510 and i want to get a microphone that is a reasonable price and works well on this exact camera. If you could give me links to the exact product and why you believe it to be good.perhaps from personal experience with it or what not that would be lovely.thanks!

Good Digital Camera Uploading Software?

I used to own a Canon Powershot and used Zoombrowser and the Canon Photo Suite to upload my photos from the camera to our computer. HOWEVER, our dog ate my camera, so now I am using a Nikon Coolpix s610 and HATE the Nikon uploading software. Can anyone recommend something or know if my Canon software would work with the Nikon?

My Nikon coolpix S203 is not working!

I got this camera two black fridays ago and it worked perfect until a few months ago.one day i turned it on to take and pic and all of a sudden it just zooms in and out then turns off and says Lens error, it does it every time i turn it on and it wont work anymore. Is this problem fixable?

Can't decide which camera to buy?

I need help deciding between two cameras. I want to take really good HD photos underwater and also out of the water, but I really don't know how to tell which camera has the best resolution. Also help me decide which is better for it's money!

I'm deciding between:

Should I keep my Nikon D5000?

Hi,

I am moving from the US To Ireland for 1 year in a couple of days. This week I purchased my first SLR camera - a Nikon D5000. I can tell it is an amazing camera; however, I am under a lot of pressure right now - more than normal, and since this is my first SLR camera, I have no idea how to use it. I honestly don't have the time right now to practice and learn while I am getting ready for my move.

I was thinking about exchanging it for a Nikon Coolpix P100 - what do you think?

PROs (D5000):
Potentially better photos

PROs (P100):
Easier to use
Better zoom - all in one lens
Not as much equipment to carry around while traveling

CONs (P100):
Spending $400 on a non-SLR camera when I might regret not spending the extra on an SLR

**I will mainly be using the camera to take photos and document Ireland for the year that I am there. The landscapes, etc.

Please offer me your respectful opinion. I am not a professional photographer (obviously) but I do love to take photos and want the best photos possible while I am in Ireland. I do know that with a bit of time I will get the hang of the SLR. Thank you for your help.
