My Nikon Coolpix shuts off everytime I want to zoom in?

Hi. I have a Nikon Coolpix (10.2 mpx), and everytime I want to zoom in, it shuts off. When I'm trying to view a picture on the screen, I have to use the zoom to look at the pictgure closely, and the zoom works fine. But when I use the zoom to TAKE a picture, the camera turns off. Why is this? What can I do to fix this problem… Besides call tech-support? Serious answers please! Thanks!

My memory card won't stay in my camera?

When I put my memory card in my camera it won't stay in. It keeps popping back out. I think a spring broken in it. My camera is a Nikon Coolpix. Is there any place I can take it to to get it fixed? Thanks

I just bought energizer rechargeable batteries that is 2000 mAh. I know most of the rechargeable batteries doesnt not work for this camera… But does the energizer 2000 mAh work?

Memory card is write protected?

That's what my nikon coolpix is telling me. I keep taking out the card, moving the switch to the middle, turning on the camera, getting the memory card is write protected message, and then, when i take out the sd card to move the switch again, i see it's moved completely to the side. How can i stop this? Thank you!

Ive had my nikon coolpix for about a year
and two months ago my flash completely stopped working.
i dont know what to do and cant seem to find a solution.

Nikon Coolpix Digital Camera (S550)?

So the camera i have now isnt that great. Its a sony cybershot & its fuzzy without a flash & everything looks terrible with the flash.
Plus it takes forever after i push the button for the picture to take.
The Nikon Coolpix has cool colors & the commercial says it starts qucikly. So a few questions.
1. Does it take normal AA batteries or does it come with a certain battery i have to charge?
2. Do the batteries last a while?
3. Do the videos have sound [either on the camera or just the computer]?
4. Are the pictures good?
5. Does it take pictures quickly instead of having a delay?
6. Any extra comments or opinions.
Thanks! I really need a camera because its summer & im traveling a lot!
Added (1). && I have a SanDisk 1.0 GB memory stick from my old camera so would it work in the Nikon?

My Nikon Coolpix S220 won't transfer pictures?

I try plug in my camera and open up the Nikon transfer, no pictures appear in the selecting box. But I can view the pictures on my camera. What's wrong?
I have Windows XP and I do not have a memory card slot in my computer. I have already removed and added the Nikon Transfer program again, didn't work either, I also try open up the F drive, see the S220 camera ion, but no pictures show up either. Suggestions?

What are the release dates for the new Fuji FinePix HS30EXR and the new Nikon Coolpix P510? (United States release dates)

Also if you have any other information on new super zoom cameras that have been announced for 2012, list it in your response.

I would also like to know your oppinions on which super zoom to buy at the end of this March 2012 I am going on vacation and MUST buy a camera by March 21, just not sure if its worth waiting for the cameras to be released to read the reviews on them and then make my decision.

How to make the shutter speed on a Nikon Coolpix P80 go faster?

I have a Nikon Coolpix P80 camera and I was wondering how to adjust or make the shutter speed on the camera work faster. Right now when I take pictures with it, it makes this 'beep beep' and then it takes the picture. I was wondering if there was a way to make the 'beep beep' sound stop and just take the picture the milo-second I press the button.
I plan on becoming a professional photographer when I grow up so this is kinda important.

Nikon coolpix 4600 camera does not turn on?

I loaned my nikon coolpix 4600 camera to my daughter to take on a trip. When she came
back the button to turn on the camera no longer works. Pressing it does not do anything.

she claims that she did not drop it or damage it. But who knows what really happened.

assuming that she did not damage the camera does anyone know what could be the problem?

there are 2 buttons on the back of the camera.
one with a triangle (the play button according to the manual)
and the delete button.

if i press these 2 buttons at the same time the camera turns on, but the lens does not extend.
then by pressing the play button again, by itself, the lens extends.

i tried taking the batteries out for a long time (about 20 minutes) and reinstall them.
but the problem persists.
