What are some really good cameras that aren't expensive?

Well I have to take a lot of photos for college and when I take a picture really close or zoom in it blurs and I can't even see in the picture what it is.It's a nikon coolpix, it's good besides that but close up it's really bad. Can anyone recommend a really good quality camera that doesn't blur when you zoom in? Preferably not expensive too. Thanks

Why does my camera say 'this file contains no data'?

I have a coolpix s4000 and a 512MB SD card. Whenever I put my memory card into the computer and upload pictures and put it back in the camera, it says the picture file has no data.Am I doing something wrong and how can I fix it?

How to change the shutter speed on a Nikon coolpix L100?

As in the title, I have this crappy picture taking device called a camera.It's a Nikon Coolpix L100. I was told that it is a great camera. But try telling that to a photographer who seen better pictures taken with a toy camera. I miss my canon camera 35mm that was broken a couple years ago.My trouble is the darn focus of the camera, which is plain terrible, and the shutter speed. I photograph dogs and puppies mostly. And as everyone knows, puppy subjects tend to stand still for about a split second before they're off again. I cannot get the camera to take pictures quick enough. Please, somebody brighten my day and tell me there is a way to quicken the camera's shutter speed? Thank you.

Nikon s4000 troubleshooting?

Ok so i was just taking a picture when my Nikon Coolpix s4000 gives me a
message on the screen that says "this card cannot be used"
I can't take pictures access the menu, nothing at all
Only when i take the card out can i do anything.
I've tried flipping the orange little slip on the side back and forth
i can't find a way to format the memory card
and i don't want to buy a new card.
Is there anything i can do?
Please please help :)

How to take better photos with a coolpix p90?

I have a coolpix p90 I got it for Christmas. I love taking photos but I know very little about shutter speed, aperture, ect. I know that shutter speed makes the photos look better, but I have to put flash on even in well lit areas because it doesn't capture light. Any tips?

Which camera takes better pictures?

My stepdad brought home a Nikon P6000 and a fugiFilm finepix S2980, the Nikon is 13.5 mega pixels and the FugiFilm is 14 megapixels, does that mean the fugi would be better? I'm taking a photography class and am unsure of what camera to use. I take mostly pictures of horses and other animals outdoors.
