I have a feeling that I'm out of luck on this. Normally this is a great little camera and takes awesome shots just on auto settings. However, I tried every preprogrammed setting I could and still ended up with grainy shots. They don't need to be action shots, although some of the better shots came out under the action/sports setting. Obviously I'm not a photographer… just trying to get some decent pics of my kids. Also a "good" camera is a bit out of the budget. Any suggestions to improve the quality? Again… not looking for professional shots here, but what I ended up with looks like I took it with a 1980s 110 camera.

A good Digital SLR camera for under 500?
I have recently fell in love with photography, and I really want to get started because I love it. I was using a friends Nikon Coolpix P90 for a while, and love that camera. I want a camera like that one. Any camera's like that under $500. I preferably would like one of the brand names with a better rep, (Canon, Nikon etc.) Any good ones out there?

Nikon P510 1080p and 1080p star, what's the difference?
On the Nikon P510, there are 2 1080p shooting modes, 1080p and 1080p with a star. What is the difference between the two and will there be an affect on the time it takes to upload them on to youtube?

Nikon S9300 GPS trouble. No satellite lock?
I can't get the GPS on my Nikon s9300 to work. I use the camera for work, and need to know the exact location of most shots. Currently my only workaround is to carry a garmin, and take a photo of it after every shot… Very annoying
I've updated the A-GPS data in the camera, i made sure GPS is enabled in the options, and I shoot outdoors with clear view of the sky… Still no luck. The GPS icon on the screen never changes from red, no satellite lock.
Has anyone else had this problem? How did you fix it?
By the way, if it matters, I'm in Europe… but GPS should be global, right?

How to set a Coolpix P500 to Shutter Speed?
I'm doing a science experiment that involves luminol and in order to take pictures of the blue glow I need it on Shutter Speed. I recently got this camera so I am not that familiar with it. If anyone could tell me how to get to Shutter Speed that would be great!
Added (1). @ Steve P: Oh sweet moses! I guess you're right! Wow, I'm such an idiot because I was under the impression that it wasn't in the owners manual… oh, that's right! I LOST IT! I'm not stupid. I wouldn't have asked this question of I hadn't lost the owner's manual.

Please comment on the Nikon P7000 or P770?
I'd like to hear from people who own one of these cameras, including pros and cons of operation, image quality, and low light performance.
I like everything about this camera except the size.Is it too big to stuff into a shirt or jacket pocket?
Thanks for your insight.
Added (1). That's the P7700. I didn't notice the missing "0."

Camera pros/Photographers: Feedback?
Looking to buy a good quality, inexpensive camera ASAP
It needs to be:
>under $200, +/-
>at least 14 MP
>rechargeable (I plan on using it a lot and don't want to deal with carrying/purchasing replacement batteries often)
>not too bulky
>at least 6x optical zoom
>at least 4x digital zoom
>LCD screen
>Image stabilization/vibration reduction
Mainly going to be used for yearbook photography over the next several months. We're trying to get the book to suck marginally less. So, lots of action shots and instantaneous candids. Events like high school rallies, talent show, drama productions, soccer, etc. You get the idea
Considering a few that meet my requirements, ranging from $82-215, just looking for user feedback.
>Canon PowerShot A1300
>Canon PowerShot A810
>Canon PowerShot A2300IS
>Samsung EC-SH100
>GE Power Pro X500
>Canon PowerShot ELPH 110HS
>Canon PowerShot SX160
>Nikon Coolpix L120
