Owning a D90 in 2014?

Hi
I am an hobyist photographer, been using a bridge camera (nikon p100) for past 4 years.Now i am looking forward to get a dslr. Nikon d5200, d3300 and d90 are those which suits my budget.D90 being a well built camera compared to others is more than 6 years old technology.

So how relevant is it to go for older d90 over the new tech D5200 and d3300 at this point of time?

Portrait photography?

When shooting portraits, what processes do I need to go through? I know that I need to have everything ready before I start, but I don't have any special equipment like backdrops, studio lights, special lens, etc.(can't afford it right now). However, I do have a tripod and a camera(nikon p510) that i'm well experienced with and allows me to take photos as good as a $700-$1000 camera would take. I also have taken portraits before with it. What all do I need to know before going any further with portraits? And please dont say read a book like all other people have said because someone can read all they want but they wont have that knowledge until they actually get hands on experience. Thanks.

How to focus my video on my camera?

I have a Nikon Coolpix S220 camera and I can't figure out how to focus my camera while recording. When I make a video and I want the front object to be focused it won't move, the background will stay focused and the front object will stay blurry. Also, if you don't mind answering this what's the difference between the ISO sensitivity? It varies from 80 to 2000 and does it matter on videos or is it just pictures?

I'm sorry for so many questions but I just want to finally get used to this camera.

Nikon coolpix L820 help? - 1

So I just bought a Nikon Coolpix L820 camera and when I tried taking a video with it there was no sound? Is there something wrong with my camera?

Youtube gaming advice?

Hi,

I'm just starting out on youtube and I was wondering if there is any advice anyone can give me?
By advice I mean:
1) what equipment would a youtube gamer need? I already have the Rovio game capture card SD, a microphone, Nikon Coolpix 14mgpx and a ps3. I am getting the Xbox one in April.
Would I need special editing software? If so, which one is most affordable to does a good job?

2) how do I make my audience grow to such an extent that I can reach say 100,000 by September? If that's possible anyway. In short, how do I gain maximin exposure to my channel?

So basically just any advice you guys can give me:)

My Nikon Coolpix s3300 lens went black. What should i do?

My Nikon Coolpix s3300 lens went black. What should i do?
Added (1). At first I thought I was just the screen but you can still se the menu and settings and old pictures. I am sure it is the lens. Can I fix it myself or do I have to ask a professional?
Added (2). When I say Black I mean when im trying to take a picture it is just as if im taking a picture of a pitch black room!

Olympus PEN E-PL3 vs Nikon CoolPix L820?

Witch one is better in photo quallity and better for a beginner?
Looking for crish,sharp images, and to do macro photography?
Added (1). Or if you know any other camera in this price range with exeptional image quallity.
In short im looking for something small and relatively cheap but with As best as possible image quallity(of a DSLR).

Good mid-range digital cameras which don't cost half of my savings?

p.s. By mid-range i mean currently less that £400 (unless a new model is coming out soon so the price will drop to >£400) and takes good quality pictures.

Hi, in 15 and I want to upgrade my camera. I currently have a Nikon Coolpix S3300, it's good with during the day, but when it starts gets dark pictures become noisy and blurry (which is really irritating for me because I live next to this train tack that looks really good at night, but every photo I take comes out badly so i get frustrated), videos are really blurry, also not being able to change the aperture and shutter speed is pretty annoying.

Anyway… I don't what it looks like, i don't care about touch screens, I don't care about GPS etc, i just want a camera that takes good quality pictures even in low light… And that has manual shutter speed and aperture controls…And that doesn't cost half of my savings. What would you recommend which best fits these criteria?

I've read about some cameras (e.g. Canon PowerShot SX500) but I'm confused because every site says a different thing about every camera.

Oh and I've only owned compact cameras before, but have used DSLR cameras ( okay, they were my school's cheap Nikons).

Except the higher zoom level in L820, does it worth upgrading camera?
