Cameras Similar to Nikon L310?

I'm looking for a camera similar to the Nikon l310 but one that has rechargeable batteries
Hoping to stay around that price range too

Also does the Nikon L310 produce better pictures than a standard point and shoot digital camera with 16 mega pixels?
