Ok so the story is i been trying to get into photography for over a year now. It's just a hobby i been trying to pick up. I Started out with a Nikon COOLPIX camera. It's a great camera but I am getting a little bored with it. The camera is only good for close range and you can't switch lenses. I decided to go onto eBay and buy a film camera for about $40, because I am a poor nursing student and I don't have the money to buy a $600 digital camera with longer lenses. Right now i have canon at-1, Minolta srt 201, and my uncle got me a Minolta maxxxum 5000i. Ever since I got them I've been trying to research them and So far i haven't had any luck. I decided to just wing it; I got 400 speed film 35mm.It seems that everyone was using 35 MM film so that's what I picked up. I have no clue if that was a good choice. I believe I spent about $20 on 4 rolls of film and I used one, took some pictures and of course me being a beginner; my pictures were not good at all.So that was another eight dollars down the drain. I was wondering if anyone has these cameras and could tell me what kind of film/batteries I could use? Where can I get cheap film? What's the cheapest place I can get my film develop? Through my research I read the beginners just keep the negatives and don't get the negative develop so you can save money and you can still see how your picture turn out. Not sure if that means I still have to send the film out to get the negative or if i just open the film up after I'm done. Any information would be awesome! Like I said Im a good beginner so anything would help! Thanks guys!
