Nikon Coolpix L27 Lens Error?

Hi, I purchased a Nikon Coolpix L27 from Argos about 10 days ago and since the day I've got it every time I try to take a video longer than around 2 minutes it comes up with a Lens Error and won't let me use the camera again for another 10 minutes or so. Also, sometimes if I just switch it on and take a photo it switches itself off. This may to do with batteries however it always says the batteries are full, but fixes itself if I replace them. The main problem is the Lens Error, and I gather this is not to do with the batteries. Should I take it back to Argos or is this normal, or am I doing something wrong? Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

Would buying a used DSLR be a good idea?

I have a point & shoot camera. Nikon Coolpix S9300. & it really is a great p&s camera! Although, I cracked the LCD screen so now 2/3 of the screen is blank when I turn the camera on.So only 1/3 of the screen actually shows the images.My parents are dissapointed in me & I feel really guilty about it, but I don't think sending it somewhere & getting it repaired would be worth the money.

I definitely don't have enough money for a brand new DSLR, so I was thinking about buying a used one locally. Has anyone had any experience buying a used DSLR? Any tips?

Camera decision, Canon, Nikon, GE?

I want a camera for everyday photography, I'm either going to get
- Canon Powershot A4050 (Digital Camera) £39.95
- Nikon Coolpix L27 (Digital Camera) £49.00
- GE X400 (bridge Camera) £49.00

I really want a bridge camera, but I want a good mp camera. What do you think about them ones? Any recommendations? All answers appreciated, thanks :-)

How good is the Nikon Coolpix L820 for recording videos?

I am starting a YouTube channel for which I'd really like great quality video (it's a beauty channel, so I need high quality video to show details of makeup/products/etc.). I'm looking for HD, obviously, but the video also needs to have 1920x1080p (16:9) recording capability, and cost under $200. I also wanted video and camera capabilities, and I came across the Nikon Coolpix L820. Does anyone have any opinions of the quality of the video on this camera? I am mostly interested in it's recording capabilities, the photo camera is just a bonus for family use. Thanks!

Camera/Photography.?

I have a Nikon P510. I'm familiar with the camera and all and i've been experimenting with the manual mode, also the shutter priority and aperature modes. When I switch shutter speeds, it changes the speeds but also lightens and darkens the photo, is that supposed to happen? And the aperature, what is it's purposes? What all does it control? And how do I get the camera to focus in long and short distances on manual? I can focus but only at certain distances. And this is a comact digital, but built like a dslr, just smaller.
