Why buy a DSLR over a small compact camera?

I have Nikon CoolPix S9500 and it is a great camera that takes great, top quality(Full HD) videos and photos and it has a 22x optical Zoom and is has a 18 megapixels CMOS image sensor that means the photos and video will be in high resolution.

All the time i record my videos at home with my Nikon CoolPix S9500 on my tripod and it is great and very happy with it. I don't see no reason to get a DSLR over a great small compact camera.

So Why buy a big *** DSLR where you can get a great small compact camera that is more portable to carry around with you than all DSLR's(especially with very big lenses) out there and has good lens inside and is as good taking top quality photos/videos…

Give me reasons why a big DSLR is better than a great small compact camera like Nikon Coolpix S9500?

Would the Nikon COOLPIX L830 work good for skateboarding film?

I'm in need of something with very good quality photos and video along with being able to freeze frame a video without getting a blurry look to it! Also, with a long battery life to it. It seems like it would be alright but was expecting it to cost much more so I wanted to be sure!

Why Won't my Nikon Coolpix S2700 take pictures?

I just imported photos on my camera to my laptop and now my camera isn't working. When I turn it on all the things in shooting mode are round the screen (like how many minutes I have of filming left) but the screen is black. The lens is out but the picture isn't showing up on the screen. I tried taking a picture but it couldn't record it. It isn't the memory card because I took it out and it still isn't working. Any Help would be appreciated:)

Hello everyone! I've recently purchased a Nikon Coolpix L330 and i was planning on shooting a show that is an hour long, when i came to test my camera out for the first time it appears that there is a limit of 28:59 minutes worth of footage…

I am baffled… I've got an 8 Giga in that Camera and it shoots for 29 minutes only?

My Nikon L830 won't record full video?

I recently purchased a Nikon L830 to take pictures for my blog and record Youtube videos. However, it will only take super short videos (around 19 sec or less.) Obviously, I don't want a 19 second video. Is there any way around this (like recording straight to my laptop, etc.) or should I return the camera and save up some more for a more expensive one?

Digital Cameras With Adjustable Shutter Speed?

I currently have a Nikon CoolPix L22, however I am wanting to shoot motion and I'm unable to change the shutter speed on the camera I currently have. I'm going to be in the market for a new camera very soon, and I want to know what cameras have an adjustable shutter speed that are in the $100-$200 price range.
