i'm shopping for a camera but sadly i know nothing about cameras. I feel sort of lost when shopping for one, but i have compiled a list of cameras in my price range that i think are pretty good and i'm wondering which is best.
mostly ill be taking pictures outside however i will still be taking some pictures inside i would like it to take good pictures in low light and to have a pretty powerful zoom too. And if nothing on my list looks good perhaps list the specs for what i should look for when buying one. My budget is about 225$-250$
the list.

Nikon Coolpix won't turn on?
I have a Nikon CoolPix camera, but i haven't used it in ages because I got an Android. I wanted to use the Nikon for prom pictures TOMORROW, so I plugged it in the charger and it doesn't appear to be working. I hold the power button, even when it's still plugged in, and it won't turn on. The only thing that is happening is the little green button next to the "flash" symbol keeps blinking when it's plugged in. I know that batteries sometimes go bad, but it was fine a few months ago, and now it won't do anything. Even when it is plugged in, it won't turn on, so this might not be a battery problem. Does anyone have any idea whats wrong/what I can do to fix it? And the suggestion, "Go buy a new camera" isn't really helpful in this scenario…

How to tell how much space is left on a memory card?
I used to have a Kodak camera where it said on the main picture screen how many pictures you had left to take. I have a Nikon now but I'm not sure how many pictures I have left on the camera. Its a Nikon Coolpix L18. Thanks. :)

Why does my computer say Scanner or Camera in use, try again later?
I plug in my camera, click on Computer, click on the camera icon and get an empty box. I click on "get pictures from camera" and then the box pops up saying "camera or scanner in use/try again later".
I own a Nikon Coolpix L11
The batteries are brand new
The photos/videos show up on playback
The USB port recognizes all the other devices that I plug into the port
What could be wrong?
Added (1). The cam.didn't come with software and I didn't say that I was using any.

How much will it cost to repair my Nikon Coolpix P100 lens?
Being the idiot that I am, I dropped my brand new camera the other day and now there's a small crack in the lens! As you can understand I'm desperate to get it fixed as soon as possible. The camera is a Nikon Coolpix p100 which I know has a warrant service, but I'm not sure whether I'm entitled to it or not as I bought the camera off eBay and so have no receipt. If anyone could give me an estimate of how much repairing this is gonna set me back, please help! Or, even better, if you could give me advice in what I'm entitled to re: warranty. Either way thanks for your help:)
Added (1). The zoom, etc all work perfectly in the camera. It's just in the second lens that there's a slight crack which leaves a small brown dot in the middle of the screen which isn't exactly the kind of image quality I'm going for!

Nikon Coolpix fast blinking ONLY when transferring photos?
I tried transferring pictures from my Nikon Coolpix to my computer and the green light started blinking really really fast and then nothing happens. I then tried to charge it, so when I plugged it in, the blinking was normal. What's wrong with it? Why doesn't Nikon Transfer work? My camera is 3 years old FYI. Thanks!

Nikon Coolpix or Fujifilm?
I want a clear taking picture camera. I am NOT a photographer but I want a cheap, good DSL camera. Which one is better quality?
Added (1). Also I would like 30x + optical zoom. Any recommendations?

Camera Flash Capacitor Discharged Will It Charge Again?
I was cleaning the dust inside my Nikon Coolpix L610 and i received a very powerful shock… After that the flash only had the power to flash once and is now dead. The red light that indicates a power problem with the flash is on, on the top of the camera.
I'm assuming i rapidly discharged the Flash Capacitor a battery that stores power from the main batteries for use only with the flash. Everything on the camera works fine, just the flash being dead, and yes i know how to make sure the flash is on…
My question is, Do i have to get a new battery or "Flash Capacitor" Or does it just take time for the main batteries to charge the Flash Capacitor, and i need to let it sit for awhile. My camera is an advanced camera but takes AA's.
What do i need to do. I know i did not kill or short something perm because the flash still worked once afterwards.
