Would this camera be good for a beginning photographer?

I'm looking for a camera that would be worth getting. I want to get into photography, but I don't know much about cameras. I want to find something under $800 that will do me good, and I can take and use to learn with and hopefully use for classes?
If someone could recommend me something, that would be great!

My camera (s) won't charge?

I'm going to a concert soon, and my camera won't charge. I have a Nikon Coolpix s230, and it won't charge at all. I used a wall adapter to try to charge it.My friend is letting me use hers, but hers won't charge either! She has a Nikon Coolpix s3000. Any reason why this could be happening?

I can't turn off the shutter sound when taking pictures now?

Every since I sent my Nikon CoolPix L120 to get repaired the shutter makes a "click" noise when I snap pictures and I have no clue how to mute it.It didn't do that before the repair ( the camera works fine ) and its rather annoying, especially since I use the camera a lot for my work.
Added (1). It never did it before the repair, I can't remember if I found a way to mute it or not before.

Tips for bokeh photography?

Hello. Now, I think bokeh photography is really quite pretty, (the 'Hollywood' kind with the lights out of focus) and I really really would love to be able to do it with my nikon coolpix l120 but the thing is I am really struggling. I like the kind where the light is a shape, but I struggle to get it into circles let alone hearts or stars.

So basically does anyone have any tips on improving my photos. And tips for getting the light in a shape?
Any tips of any kind welcomed :)
Btw: I'm trying to focus on a set of Christmas lights ;)

What is the speed of a Nikon Coolpix L105 camera?

I simply can't find the speed anywhere, and I'm not sure if it's more that I can't find it, or that I don't know what speed exactly means for a camera.

Connecting my camera to windows 8?

I got a new camera recently its the Nikon Coolpix s6100 and I have windows 8 on my laptop.the guide only tells me how to connect it to windows 7, windows 8 is just a completely different thing, I don't know how to connect it.thanks

Why won't my Nikon Coolpix S4000 charge?

I lost the cord and charger to my camera. When my battery died I borrowed a charger and used it with a phone charger that has a USB port. The charge light flashes like seven times and then quits. I ordered a new cord and battery. When I tried to charge the new battery it does the same thing. I was reading a little about it and remembered that the camera has a setting to charge on a computer or use the plug in to the outlet.My question is, will it charge the way I'm doing it? And if it is set to charge on an outlet will it charge any other way.Is there something wrong with my camera or do I need to order the thing that plugs into the wall? If I order the outlet charger will that fix my problem?

What cameras can upload DIRECTLY to facebook?

Looking to get a mothers day gift, the camera she wants is one that can upload directly to facebook. But she also wants it to be a long zoom camera, like the NIKON P520 or similar. From what I've looked up there are no cameras that are similar to that and upload directly to facebook.

Anybody know of one, or something with at least good image quality and a decent zoom, something like the Nikon Coolpix S9500, but that can upload directly to facebook?

Nikon Coolpix L310 help?

So, I've recently bought the Nikon Coolpix L310, and I was hoping to use it for movies, and photography. But, I cannot find how to change the shutter speed. I've tried playing about with it but I don't know where to change it. Help? :/

My nikon coolpix wont turn on?

Ok.so it was working for a few weeks or so and then one day it wouldn't turn on. I held the power button and nothing happened.does anybody know what is wrong with my camera?
