Nixon Coolpix L810 Pop-Up Flash Malfunction?

I have a Nikon Coolpix L810 and when the pop-up flash is raised, the camera does not recognize the flash as being raised. Obviously, the only way to use the flash is when the flash is pop-upped so I'm not sure what the problem is. We tried resetting to factory settings but it's still not recognizing it as being raised. Any ideas? Anyone else have similar problems? Thank you for your help!

How to find hidden images in my nikon coolpix!

I spent all day taking very important pictures and my camera hid the images from me! I was on the sort by date menu deleting useless folders when all of a sudden it said something like 'All Images Are Hidden.' The few things I can find on the internet don't tell me how to view the hidden pictures file. Please help!!!

What camera is best for me?

I currently have a Nikon Coolpix, but I'm studying abroad in Europe this spring and will be traveling a lot, so I'd like to upgrade. I want a camera that will take really beautiful pictures, with good zoom and lots of features/settings.It would be such a plus if I could also take nice pictures at night (like the Eiffel Tower lit up!). I'd really like to spend under $300 so I won't be too upset if it gets lost or stolen. I was thinking about getting the Canon SX500. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

I want it to be un-blurry when taking fast shots, want it to be clear, colorful, SLR-looking shots, up close well, and to take very good shots. I never bought a Fujifilm. Please tell me which one.
